Control. Moderation. Blending.
XIV Temperace

We are driven to do more, create more, earn more. Fame and fortune lie at the end of the rainbow upon which has been scrawled “Move fast and break things.” And that does indeed work for some, but is there another way?
Temperance pushes you to find that other way. To float along, or above, that perpetual mutual and while not quite resisting its flow, to take the time to make the decision that is right for you.
Many times Temperance serves as a guide to look for a middle way between the pushes and pulls that are trying to exert control, or even the push and pull of your own desires. Is there a way to seek compromise that lets all factors involved advance?
These can be especially true is those factors are those close to you and giving advice. Listening to the voices around you and blending those opinions to a true middle ground can produce great results. Don’t be afraid to make a middle decision that is also truly your own.
Of course, this wouldn’t be Tarot if there wasn’t a warning encoded in the exact ideas being promoted. Compromise is a great tool, but there is a reason compromise is sometimes snarking defined as “a method of making all parties involved equally unhappy.” Temperance can be pushed too far, and instead of seeking balance can instead be forming blockage. Self control doesn’t always mean restraining yourself, it can be a push to exert yourself as well.
