My little guy likes reading books. Or at least he goes into phases where he wants to read books. Tonight we sat down together and read eleven together. Of course, he’s four so the books aren’t all that long.
Still, it is pretty neat to see how quickly he changes and how his understanding increases. Little jokes that used to just pass by him now illicit giant guffaws. His laughter is still one of the sweetest sounds I know.
I’ll admit to being glad that dinner was ready after the eleventh book. I was starting to wear down and need a little bit of a break. Plus, I was hungry.
But, at the same time, curling up with my son and reading books is a nice way to spend a Saturday night.
