Not Drunk Yet

The school day ended and some of us teachers went out to our second life as adults that wanted to have a few drinks.

Yet again I’m reminded of how lucky I am to work with such amazing people. Even after a few conflicts and squabbles during the work day, we are still so dedicated and supportive of each other. We left all feeling that not only do we need to go out drinking more often, but we need to include more teachers in our polyglot droning festivities.

I fully agree and am supportive of such ventures. But, at the same time, I can’t escape the part of myself that really wants to run home and just be with my family.

I am further blessed with children and a wife that I truly care for and who truly cares for me.

Sober or not, that feeling doesn’t change.

I want to say something profound, that moves the reader and brings us all together. But the best words are all so much cliche.

Find people you care about and then protect those bonds.

That’s what matters.
